Darkest lens, still no fog
Proper smoke lens for harsh sun and yet the venting keeps up. Crit in full midday glare and I never had to lift them to clear mist at the corners.

Exactly what I needed for stage racing. The purple mirror handles hard midday sun without killing contrast, and I never had to push them up my forehead on a climb to clear fog.
I don't get on with mirrored lenses — this neutral grey shows the road exactly as it is, just dimmed. Perfect for bright days when you still want accurate colour.
Purple base with a warm tint — bright enough for open sun, contrasty enough for tree cover. If I could only keep one Hapex lens it'd be this.
The orange base lifts every rock and rut out of the trail. On a flat-light gravel day I could read the surface way earlier than the guys I was riding with.
The pink base lifts contrast in that flat pre-sunrise light so you can actually see potholes. Rode out at 5am on gravel and the trail popped.
Early season rides with snow still on the verges are brutal for glare. The blue mirror knocks it right down without making everything dim.
38 degrees and blinding. This lens takes the edge off without going so dark you lose the road. Light frame means no sweaty pressure points either.
Lightest frame I've worn in a decade of racing. Coverage is huge but they sit so light on the nose that I stopped noticing them somewhere on the second lap.
British weather changes every ten minutes. This tint copes with all of it and I've stopped carrying a second pair. Light, secure, fog-free.
Understated grey lens, same brilliant frame. Light, huge field of view, and no fog on the climbs. My go-to for café rides and racing alike.
In and out of tree cover this tint keeps everything crisp instead of going murky. Genuinely my favourite lens for mixed conditions.
Grey overcast Peak District rides look sharp instead of washed out. Enough tint to cut headlight glare on the lanes without ever feeling dark.
Does everything a dark lens should on a hot day and the venting means no fog when you slow for a hairpin. Very light on the face too.
Exactly what a dark lens should be — just don't expect to keep them on into the evening. Optics and fit are top notch.
Wind and grit stay out even in an aggressive position on the drops. The blue-purple tint is more versatile than I expected — fine from bright sun into light tree cover.
Clarity to the very edge of the lens and no distortion. The purple-yellow flash is striking — I like it, just don't expect subtle.
The grey tint is ideal for our hard summer light. Would have liked a spare lens included at this size, but the optics and fit are excellent.
Wore them for a seven hour day in the mountains and took them off at the top with no marks on my nose. The green mirror keeps glare off the tarmac on the descents.
For dawn starts and cloudy days it's superb. In full midday sun I switch to a darker lens. The multi mirror is loud — I don't mind, but be warned.
Coverage is brilliant for keeping wind out of your eyes on descents. If you have a smaller head they might look oversized — they do the job though.
Locked on through a bunch sprint and a sketchy descent. Wide coverage, zero bounce, and the dark tint keeps me relaxed when the sun's straight ahead.
The lens quality is excellent and there's zero distortion at the edges. Temples felt tight the first couple of rides but they've eased off and now the hold is spot on.
Sun, cloud, a tunnel and a rain shower in one ride. Never had to swap lenses. No fog on the climbs and no glare on the descents.
Not too dark, so it works from bright spells into cloud without feeling wrong. Vents keep them clear when you stop. Frame is featherweight.
Optically excellent and they vent well. The green-orange mirror is a statement — I like it, but know what you're getting before you order.
Short days and low sun straight in your eyes. This tint tames the glare and still brightens the shadows. Genuinely changed my winter riding.
Lots of my riding is along water. The blue-green mirror handles the reflected glare better than any lens I've tried at this price.
Bought these after fogging out of a cheaper pair on every climb. Rode a humid 140k and they stayed clear the whole way, even stopped at traffic lights.
40 minutes of rain off the top and they never fogged or fully misted. The grey keeps enough light in that a grim day doesn't feel darker than it is.
Hill repeats on a warm evening usually fog me out at the top of every effort. These cleared within a few pedal strokes every single time.
Light, secure, clear optics right to the edge. Wore them for a crit in full sun and never thought about them once, which is the whole point.
Broken tarmac and fast gravel and they sat dead still. The nose and temple grip is genuinely better than pairs I've paid three times as much for.
Dark tint is perfect for our exposed climbs. New the arms gripped hard, but a week in they've relaxed to a really secure, comfortable hold.
This is a proper bright-light lens. On a route with long forest sections I found myself wanting to take them off. If you ride mostly open roads, ignore that.
Cyclocross means mud, effort and lots of head movement. They stayed locked on for a full hour and the contrast helped pick lines in the murk.
For bright and mixed conditions these are perfect. Only reason it's four stars is I'd have liked a clear or rose lens in the box for early starts.
Five hard days, dust, sweat and one drop on gravel. A tiny scuff on the frame, lens perfect, and they never bounced on the rough stuff.
First rides the temples pressed a little. They've loosened up and now it's a perfect secure fit. Lens is my favourite of the range for mixed light.
Cobbled sectors and fast gravel descents and they didn't shift once. The grip on the nose and temple tips holds even when I'm dripping sweat.
Big enough to block wind on the drops, but the grey lens keeps it looking clean rather than sci-fi. No distortion anywhere in the lens.
The thing that kills me with dark glasses is them sliding when I sweat. These stayed put on a 40k climb in full sun. Grip is the real deal.
Perfect for dull and low light, wrong tool for a bluebird alpine day. Fit and clarity are as good as the darker Hapex lenses I own.
Long alpine stages throw everything at you and this tint copes with all of it. Swapping to the club's spare lens takes seconds when the weather really turns.
Rough pavé and they didn't budge. The nose piece and temple grippers hold hard without pinching. Impressed for the weight.
Stop-start climbing in the wet is the ultimate fog test and these pass it. A couple of pedal strokes and they're clear again every time.
We don't get much sun here. This tint makes an overcast lane ride look sharp and bright, and they shed rain better than my old pair.
For a bright country this would be five stars. Here I'm often out in gloom and the grey is a bit much then. In actual sun they're great.
If most of your riding is bright and open, five stars. Mine isn't, so they sit in the drawer half the year. That's on me, not the glasses.
Optically fine and the frame is great, but the colour shift bothered me over a long ride and gave me a bit of a headache. Others in the club love them.
Optically great and light, but I have a wider face and by the end of a long ride the temple pressure gets noticeable. Worth trying on if you can.
In a proper downpour they crept down my nose a touch. Swapped to the taller nose pad in the box and it sorted it. Contrast in the wet is superb.
Compared side by side with a friend's premium pair on the same ride. Same clarity, same coverage, same no-fog. I know which I'd rather scratch.
The tint is lovely and versatile but the lens is tall and I could feel the bottom edge near my cheeks. Smaller-faced riders, try before you buy.
Optically superb and the fit is dialled. One deep scratch after I was careless putting them in a bag — my fault, but the coating feels a bit soft.
Salt, sweat, thrown in bags, dropped twice. Lens still clear, frame still tight. For the price I'm not precious about them and they keep going.
Own three colourways now and this is the one that lives in my jersey pocket. Does 90% of my riding light range with no complaints.
Part of the rotation with my club's spare lenses. This is the one I clip in when the forecast says grey, which here is most days.
From May to September these barely come off. Clear vision, no fog at the lights, and light enough that I forget I'm wearing them.
Picked up a scratch from my own carelessness. Coating could be tougher. But on the bike the vision, fit and glare control are exactly what I hoped.
The optics are genuinely great but the frame curve sits away from my cheekbones and lets low sun in underneath. Fine if your face is a bit flatter than mine.
Does what dedicated low-light lenses from the big brands do for a fraction of the cost. Coating picked up faint marks but nothing I notice riding.
Have the pricey ones too. These match them for clarity and fit and I stopped reaching for the others. The neutral lens just works everywhere.
Water beads off the lens and the coating has held up to a lot of spray and the odd glasses-cloth-in-a-jersey-pocket abuse. Minor swirl marks but nothing you see riding.
Case, spare pads, cloth all in the box. Straight onto a hilly 100k in shifting light and they were flawless. No notes.
